How To Look After Your Resin River Table

A resin river table is a great addition to any home.

The stunning, flowing river of epoxy can be mesmerizing, and you’ll get endless compliments from friends and family about the focal point.

But to keep our tables looking their best and prolong their life, they need a little care.

In this article, we’ve outlined tips to maintain a resin table, how to protect your table from corrosion, and ways to reduce light scratches on the table surface.

How To Look After A Resin River Table

A resin river table is relatively easy to maintain. Here are some steps you can take to prolong the life of your table.

Avoid Direct Sunlight Where Possible

You should avoid placing your resin river table in direct sunlight, as resin can discolour if it’s exposed to the UV rays for too long.

In most cases, the amount of light coming into your dining room should be fine, but you’ll need to be careful if you’re planning on putting your dining table in a particularly sunny spot!

Clean Regularly With A Soft Sponge

Keep your resin river table clean by using some soapy water and soft sponge or cloth.

Avoid using tough materials such as steel scouring pads or brushes, or harsh cleaning chemicals as these can damage the surface of your table and leave scratches in the finish.

Avoid Extreme Temperatures

Don’t place hot plates or pans on the table as these could damage the resin and the wood, leaving stains or marks on the surface that can’t be removed.

You should also avoid placing the table in a humid environment, although in the UK this isn’t likely to be much of a problem!

Please also remember that our resin tables are designed for indoor use only.

Keep Table Legs Tight

It’s also important to regularly check the table legs to make sure they are secure and the table is stable.

Over time, through regular use, these bolts can become loose, and need to be tightened to prevent damage to the table and improve stability.

Clean Up Spills Quickly

Although resin is an incredibly resilient material, we always recommend cleaning up any spills as quickly as possible to avoid any lasting damage to your table.

Simply using a damp cloth to clear away spills, or some soapy water on more stubborn stains should be enough to keep your table looking brand new for many years to come.

Is It Easy To Look After A Resin River Table?

An adequately maintained resin river table will last for many years if the surface is kept in excellent condition, and maintaining a resin river table is often easier than looking after wooden tables.

By simply avoiding harsh cleaning chemicals, using a soft cloth or sponge and soapy water to keep the table clean, and avoiding extreme temperatures is enough to keep most river tables looking their best.

A little care and attention can go a long way.
